I have a 50" plasma, and this mount has held this giant without insident or worry. It is definitely a strong mount. I am glad I was not turned off by the cheap price, and decided to give it a try, I am not dissapointed with my purchase, and would recommend buying this mount, has worked great for my use. Plus the extra cables they through in is a bonus!

My TV is a 32 inch and feels totally safe and secure. but not sure how it would feel with a 55 in. Arrived nicely packaged for fairly easy assmebly.. The 6 feet cables are plenty to work with. The finish is nice, doesn't seem all cheap-o. For $30 I think it was worth it to get a decent wall mount.

I'm happy to say this television mount will not be returned. I figured this would work alright for a small tv. Most of these are pretty basic. This ones no different, mount it to the wall...mount tv...simple.C'mon 25$$$...cables cost that.

Review by J&T Designs : Thin gauge metal leaves you nervous hanging a big unit on.

I bought a 55" plasma for my son for Christmas. To hang the unit I bought this wall mount. I have been lucky I guess and have received all my items I've purchased from Amazon really fast and on schedule. So I can't include that in my review. When I received this mount the box was light and slender which made me instantly wonder if this was enough product to hold up a 100+ pound plasma. On Christmas we opened the box and took out all parts and examined them. Everything was in very good condition visually. I own a machine shop so I know metal and was still well concerned at what I saw but figured it may be heat treated and more than capable. I could not tell what gauge metal it was because it has a pretty heavy coat of paint which is good for bumps and scratches. We proceeded to affix the mount to the wall and instantly noticed the little built in level was NOT level and kept falling out. With my mount, there was NO extra level as depicted in the photo nor does the boxes list of contents mention it. We scrambled to the garage grabbed a level and attached the mount properly. When we hung the large plasma on the mount we could see the metal bow and bend under the weight which is plain to see it was not heat treated and was plain old light gauge metal that has been stamped, bent to shape, painted and shipped out. The mount lets the weight of the television hold it in place by hooks on the flat panel you see in the picture going horizontal. No other secure fasteners that would insure the television is held to the wall was included. I quickly made up some extra brackets in my shop to insure the television would be held in place but the average person could not do that. I don't know if I had much to worry about but after I saw the metal flex and bend outward I wasn't taking any chances. The adjusters on the sides that allow you to tilt the TV is VERY awkward to get to when the TV is hung. Long arms and creativity will allow you to re-tighten the adjusters. ..................... I give this unit three stars. I would NOT buy this mount again to hang a big heavy television on. I wouldn't hesitate to hang a smaller 50 pound or less TV on it. We have to be realistic though. For the price you pay it is a steal of a deal. Be aware of what I said about the thin metal for large TV's. With the cables you get however cheap it is half worth what you pay for the whole package. Yes it is a good deal. Yes it is packed and shipped well. Yes it looks good. Functionality as in tilt is not user friendly for frequent use. Since in my opinion this mount is NOT safe for heavy TV's there are better deals on Amazon. If you were going to buy this unit for a small TV, still there are better units for around the same money.
